Active in Guatemala
Flat Creek Baptist Church has been sending teams throughout the country of Guatemala since 1998. IMB moved many of its missionaries into more difficult areas of the world and requested that local churches continue work in Guatemala in an attempt to plant churches in unreached areas of Guatemala. Beginning in 2009, we worked with First Baptist Church of Mazatenango to reach Samayac, considered to be the ‘witchcraft capital of Middle America’. There is now a Baptist church serving that community.
We then began work in Monsenor Romero, assisted by the Baptist Church in Conrado de la Cruz. In 2014, we were asked to move to a larger village, Lupita. Through Prayer Walking, Door to Door evangelism, VBS, Ladies Ministry, and Medical Teams, we have won the trust of that community and they now are meeting on a regular basis. We praise God for allowing us to walk along beside Him.
The next trip is November 4-10, 2017 and we need more workers. We will be training Associational Leaders to do VBS and will conduct VBS with the trained leaders assisting us in hopes that soon Flat Creek can move to another village where there is no evangelistic work.
In February 2018, Pastor Josh will lead a team of Pastors and teachers to conduct training for the National Associational Pastors/leaders and their wives.
November 10-17, 2018 is scheduled for another VBS team in Lupita.
